AGCO Challenger MT800 Series tracked tractors, powered by Caterpillar, are the most technologically advanced farming machines on the market today.
The range comprises four new models from 340hp gross to 500hp gross, offering the ultimate in productivity and performance by combining unprecedented tractor power with the benefits of track technology. As well being an extremely efficient method of transferring power to the ground, tracks offer improved traction, flotation and reduced compaction.
Like their smaller counterparts, the MT700 Series, this new range of tracked tractors are all new from the ground up and built to rigorous standards.

Unmatched performance from new Cat engines

Challenger MT800 Series tractors provide unrivalled power from all new Cat engines. The 340hp MT835 and 380hp MT845 are equipped with the 12-litre, Cat C12 engine. While the MT855 has a 14.6-litre, Cat C15 engine producing a gross horsepower rating of 450hp. The 15.8-litre C16 unit in the MT865 develops a staggering 500hp (all hp are gross).
The six-cylinder engines, with four-valve head technology, have air-to-air aftercooling and boast an enormous 52% torque rise allowing the tractors pull through the toughest conditions. Optimum performance and fuel economy is ensured by the electronic engine management system. This uses the ADEM III (Advanced Diesel Engine Management) controller which is linked to the transmission by ‘Intellitronics’. Fuel capacity is 1,254 litres on the MT865 and 1,159 litres on the three smaller models - more than enough for a full working day.
Full power transmission

Full power in every gear is available through the Cat-designed and built 16/4 powershift transmission that, like the entire powertrain, is purposed-built for the MT800 Series tracked tractors. Top speed is 40kph and there are eight gears in the 6.5-15kph working range.
The ‘Intellitronics’ system, which links the engine and transmission, ensures changes are made in relation to load and operating conditions. A wide choice of operating modes allows operators to select the optimum settings for the job, improving output and performance.
Three more operating modes in the tractor’s Power Management system vary the engine, transmission and hitch settings to further enhance performance with settings for maximum output, constant engine speed and constant ground speed.
Tracks provide optimum traction and flotation

The all-new Mobil-trac system combines the speed and mobility of tyres with the traction, flotation and smooth ride of tracks. Purpose-built for the MT800 Series, the new system has a 3m wheelbase providing 10.4% more ground contact than on previous Challengers enhancing both traction and flotation. The new, longer, six-axle undercarriage features four sets of mid-wheels and improves fore to aft stability, providing the best balance of any tracked tractor. Exclusive Opti-Ride suspension not only enhances operator comfort on the road and in the field, but also allows the front axle to tilt to an angle of 3.1º, allowing each track to raise up to 114mm above the centre.
Steerable hitch provides superb in-field manoeuvrability

An optional steerable three-point linkage provides up to 12º of movement to each side, allowing the tractor to make in-field steering corrections more easily. Three operating modes, Autosteer, Manual and Float are selected via the Tractor Management Centre (TMC) which also displays the hitch position and other relevant information. Linkage capacity is 8,845kg. A combination of the tractor’s longer wheelbase, centre of gravity and hitch geometry provides exceptional tractor balance allowing the MT800s to carry high loads with better stability.
Unsurpassed cab comfort and control

MT800 Series tractors set new standards in operator comfort and control. Mounted on ISO block suspension, and with a volume at 3.06m² the cab is one of the most comfortable and spacious available. Operator comfort is further enhanced with Surround Flow ventilation and heating systems, as well as a standard air suspension seat which swivels through 25º.
The sophisticated Tractor Management Centre (TMC) allows operators to set, monitor and control all the main tractor functions at the touch of a button or flick of a switch. The integral screen uses a simple rotary switch to display one of 16 different functions.
Headland turns are simplified with the help of the One-Touch Management system. This allows operators to record the sequences used to raise and lower implements on the headland such as transmission shifting, throttle and linkage raise/lower, linkage position PTO status and auto-guidance. Flicking a switch repeats these operations at each end of the bout. The switch has positions – one for entering work and another for raising the implement at the other end.
Automatic steering from optional Auto-Guide

Parallel tracking, with automatic steering in straight lines is available with the optional Auto-Guide system. Working in conjunction with a sub-metre accuracy DGPS satellite navigation system, automatic steering increases overall tractor productivity while reducing operator fatigue by removing the need for constant steering corrections.
