23/08/2016 WA Challenger Dealer Opens Impressive New Facility at Wongan Hills.
McIntosh & Son Wongan Hills hosted the official opening of its new facilities in Wongan Road on Friday 29 July 2016. Over 400 customers, special guests and staff attended the function at the new McIntosh & Son premises in Wongan Hills, where the company originally commenced operations 61 years ago.
The official opening of the building was conducted by Peter Macnamara, President of the Shire of Wongan-Ballidu, who was accompanied by Ian McIntosh and the Company’s two Directors, Stuart and Cameron McIntosh. Preceding the official opening by Mr Macnamara, Ian warmly welcomed guests with recollections of the Company’s historical achievements since 1955 and appreciation for loyal customer support. Mr Macnamara spoke with passion about how much confidence an investment of this magnitude showed in, not only the local community, but the agricultural industry in Western Australia.
Wongan Hills Dealer Principal, Anthony Ryan, also spoke with unabashed pride in his team for their dedication and unfailing commitment to ensuring the premises exceeded expectations.
The new premises represents the Company’s largest dealership in Australia and is designed to optimise efficiency and customer service, spanning a 7.5 hectare site.
With the consolidation of two previous operational sites in Wongan, the new facility offers a much larger parts warehouse offering streamlined parts management, dedicated offices for the sales team and separate undercover storage for new and used machinery.
The main feature of the premises is the new state of the art workshop which is 130 metres long and 35 metres wide. This workshop was designed and constructed to accommodate a 5t Gantry Crane with a 35 metre span.
There is also a dedicated steel fabrication workshop and a separate undercover paint preparation shed, as well as storage sheds for customers’ machinery and new and used equipment. The total undercover area on the site is over 10,000 square metres, or 1 hectare.
“This re-location is a huge achievement for the McIntosh & Son business and is directly attributable to the support from our customers and distributors. The magnitude of this facility demonstrates our confidence in the agricultural industry, and definitely lifts the bar in terms of service provision,” says Anthony Ryan, Dealer Principal, McIntosh & Son.
